Justin Timberlake DUI: Police Bodycam Footage Released

Justin Timberlake’s arrest for driving under the influence in Sag Harbor, Recent York, in June 2024, is back in the headlines as police footage of the incident has been released. The release follows a legal battle over the video’s availability to the public.

In the newly released video, Timberlake can be heard telling officers he was “just following my friends home.”

The footage shows the singer struggling with field sobriety tests. After receiving instructions from the officers, Timberlake remarked, “These are like really hard tests.”

Throughout the interaction, Timberlake remained polite even as officers shone a light in his eyes to assess his condition. When asked to walk a straight line, the singer stumbled several times, seemingly acknowledging the effects of alcohol.

“Sorry,” he confessed. “My heart is racing,” he also told the police, as reported by TMZ, who first shared the images.

The video also shows Timberlake being handcuffed, and a friend – who was with him and her husband – arriving on the scene and offering to drive his car.

Despite not resisting arrest, the friend questioned the officers, asking, “You’re going to arrest Justin Timberlake?”

A more comprehensive video of the artist’s arrest, known for hits like “SexyBack” and “What Goes Around…Comes Around,” can be viewed below.

TMZ reported that Timberlake initially filed a legal motion earlier this month to prevent the release of the police body camera footage, arguing that it constituted “an unwarranted invasion of his privacy.”

However, on Friday, the Sag Harbor Police Department announced it had reached an agreement with the singer to release a partially edited version of the video.

Timberlake was originally arrested on suspicion of driving although intoxicated, an incident that quickly went viral and spawned numerous memes.
