Raquel Argandoña didn’t hold back when discussing her daughter Kel Calderón’s daring glance at the 2026 Viña Festival Gala. The Chilean lawyer and influencer turned heads on the red carpet with a striking yellow dress by Tom Ford and her mother was among those weighing in on the bold fashion choice.
The discussion unfolded during the “Only Viña” program, where a panel of personalities analyzed the celebrity outfits from the prestigious event. Calderón’s dress, featuring an asymmetrical cut, long sleeves, and a daringly high slit, quickly became a talking point of the night.
The panel, which included José Antonio Neme, Tonka Tomicic, Mauricio Correa, Daniela Aránguiz, Vesta Lugg, Marcelo Marocchino, Ivan Grubessich, and Argandoña, discussed the various dresses showcased at the Viña Gala. When asked for her opinion on her daughter’s outfit, Raquel Argandoña was candid. “I like it. I have a thing with Kel, she always innovates,” the TV+ host shared.
“Sometimes it scares me when I see her, time passes and I want to wear something, and she tells me ‘no, forget it, due to the fact that it’s already overdone,’” she added. “It’s like Vesta (Lugg), it also imposes something that you like or don’t like, but it always imposes something. So, it’s a proposal.”
When pressed on whether she liked the dress, Raquel confirmed, “I liked it, she showed it to me when she was buying it and told me, ‘don’t demonstrate it to anyone.’ I liked it, honestly.”
“Does she always ask you?” Tonka inquired.
“No, she does what she wants,” Raquel responded, prompting laughter from the panel. “She does what she wants, but I liked it, when she sent me the photo and said, ‘What do you reckon?’ She showed me three models, the others were black and I liked this one because of the color and the design, it’s Tom Ford,” Argandoña concluded. The dress itself reportedly costs around $2.9 million pesos, according to Pagina7. The Gala is a key event leading up to the annual Viña Festival, a major cultural touchstone in Chile.
