Kharkiv Attack: Casualties Reported After Drone Strike

An explosion struck Kharkiv, Ukraine, around 8:00 a.m. Local time on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, resulting in multiple casualties, according to initial reports. The attack underscores the ongoing threat to civilian areas in the region amid the continued conflict.

Authorities initially reported four people injured, but the number quickly rose. By 9:33 a.m., officials confirmed seven people had been wounded and were receiving medical attention. Two additional injured men, ages 33 and 36, were transported to a hospital, according to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

The Kharkiv mayor, Ihor Terekhov, stated the strike hit a private sector area in the Shevchenkivskyi district, caused by what appeared to be a Shahed drone. He later clarified the drone hit a private enterprise, and information about casualties was emerging.

Tragically, the situation deteriorated as officials confirmed two residents were killed in the attack. The regional military administration reported a fire broke out at the site of the impact, and emergency services – including firefighters, paramedics, and law enforcement – were dispatched to the scene.
