“It’s been up and down, to be honest,”

Kimberly Bosman, known for her role in the reality series Echte Gooische Moeders, has publicly discussed the challenges leading up to her split from Gerrit, which was announced in December of last year. The relationship had been showing strain for some time, with Gerrit noticeably absent during filming for the previous season of the show. Bosman explained that he was as well not present at the wedding of Lesley Keijzer, a detail she found particularly difficult. “Then I sat crying in the hotel room,” she said.

The couple announced their breakup last December, and Bosman has described the period as challenging. “It’s been up and down, to be honest,” she stated. She added that adjusting to life as a single person is “really getting used to.”

The initial weeks following the separation proved to be the most difficult for Bosman. “Gerrit and I didn’t speak to each other for two weeks then,” she revealed, explaining that both individuals needed space to process their emotions. She also noted that she moved her belongings shortly after the breakup.

Prior to the split, the couple engaged in relationship therapy, hoping to reconnect. While the therapy didn’t ultimately save the relationship, Bosman gained valuable insights from the therapist. “She helped me realize that it was really over,” she said.

Bosman and Gerrit had openly discussed their desire to start a family on Echte Gooische Moeders, but despite undergoing three rounds of ICSI treatment, a pregnancy did not occur. Bosman previously indicated she wasn’t certain if this was the final blow to their relationship, but acknowledged it certainly didn’t help.

In the video below, Kimberly shares more about how her desire for a child impacted her relationship.
