Belgian reality television is undergoing a cast shakeup as Kinga Kantorska will not be returning for a novel season of “Blind Gekocht” (“Blind Bought”), multiple outlets report.
Kantorska, who has been a key figure on the show, announced she has “other plans” but will still be watching “with tears,” according to Nieuwsblad. The show, which premiered in 2019, follows a real estate agent as they search for a home for people who have struggled to find suitable housing.
Sophie Beguin, who took over hosting duties in the seventh season, will return for the upcoming season, HLN reports. Beguin stepped into the role after Kantorska’s temporary departure.
“Blind Gekocht” has proven popular with audiences, spawning a spin-off, “Blind Gekocht: Jaren Later,” which revisits past participants. Jani Kazaltzis previously took over presenting duties from Kobe Ilsen in 2022. The show airs on Play4, formerly known as VIER.
The format of the show involves purchasing a house for the participants without revealing its location until after the purchase, followed by renovations led by interior designers Bart Appeltans and, since 2021, Kelly Claessens, with Christophe Verbeke joining in 2024 and Daan Alferink in 2025.
The show’s popularity speaks to the enduring appeal of home renovation and real estate-focused reality television, a genre that continues to draw viewers internationally.
