As the demand for long-term hair removal solutions grows, the laser hair removal market is projected to reach $261.41 billion by 2031, with a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 6.48% between 2024 and 2031. This growth reflects increasing consumer focus on service quality and professional guidance.

With summer approaching and outdoor activities on the rise, many are wondering if laser hair removal remains a viable option. Experts say yes, with proper planning and skincare.

“The procedure can be performed even in the warmer months, including when preparing for events like Carnaval and beach season, as long as the protocol is followed correctly and skincare is prioritized,” explains Tálona Nayla de Marco, a specialist in the field. “Ideally, you should start or continue treatment one to three months in advance, maintaining intervals between sessions and following professional advice.”

The technology targets the hair growth cycle, requiring time and consistency to deliver noticeable results. Even as not instantaneous, many patients report a slight change in hair growth speed after the first session, with hair appearing to grow back more slowly.

A typical treatment plan involves between six and eight sessions, though the exact number varies depending on the area being treated, hair thickness, skin tone, and individual hormonal factors. Intervals between sessions usually range from 30 to 45 days, aligning with the natural phases of hair development, emphasizing the importance of careful scheduling.

Post-procedure care is also crucial, particularly during the summer months. Maintaining well-hydrated skin after each session helps preserve the skin barrier, reduce sensitivity, and promote comfortable recovery between treatments.

The increasing popularity of laser hair removal reflects a broader trend toward advanced aesthetic technologies. Consumers are increasingly seeking effective, long-lasting solutions for personal care, driving innovation and growth in the industry.

“Maintaining the region well hydrated after the sessions helps to preserve the skin barrier, reduce skin sensitivity and favor a more comfortable recovery between one application and another,” de Marco advises.
