A couple in Western Australia allegedly stole approximately 200,000 euros worth of Lego, prompting a significant police response. The incident highlights the increasing value – and appeal – of Lego as a collectible item, even attracting criminal activity.

According to reports on April 3, 2026, police required fifteen pallets to transport the seized Lego. The theft was reported by De Telegraaf, which noted the unusual scale of the heist.

The story gained traction on social media, with a post on Facebook further amplifying the details of the case.

What we have is not the first time Lego has been involved in unusual police matters. In March 2024, De Telegraaf reported that Lego compelled police to cease using Lego headpieces to obscure the faces of suspects in photographs released to the public.
