Leipzig’s annual book fair will host a lively literary party next week, blending readings, music, and performances. The LitPop event, a well-known fixture of the Leipziger Buchmesse, will take place on March 21, 2026, at the Kongresshalle am Zoo Leipzig.
More than 30 authors are scheduled to participate, including Sophie Passmann, Lukas Rietzschel, and Ronen Steinke. The event promises a diverse mix of genres, ranging from science and current events to politics, lifestyle, and pop culture. Esmaeili Parshad will share insights from her family history in “Papa weg. Mama müde. Ich laut,” while Judith Holofernes will explore the roots of her people-pleasing tendencies. Aurel Mertz will examine contemporary perceptions of masculinity in “Alpha Boys.”
Author and moderator Hendrik Bolz will also present his new podcast, “Kulturschock – Von Feuilleton bis For You Page,” live on stage. As the evening progresses, musical acts such as Only The Poets, Karaoke King, Luis La Metta, Sinamin, and Thomas Stieler will take the stage, offering a festival atmosphere that continues late into the night. The event is expected to draw large crowds, underscoring the continued popularity of literary and cultural events in Leipzig.
Tickets for LitPop, which begins at 6:00 PM, are available starting at 24.00 EUR. The party follows a series of events at the Leipziger Buchmesse, including the presentation of the Preis der Leipziger Buchmesse to Anja Kampmann and Helene Bukowski, as reported by MDR. Additional highlights of the book fair on Saturday, March 21, 2026, include readings and appearances by Sophie Passmann, Bernhard Schlink, Sebastian Fitzek, and Daniela Katzenberger.
