A significant traffic operation is underway in Córdoba and throughout the Punilla Valley today, Sunday, March 22, 2026, for the L’Étape Argentina by Tour de France cycling competition. The event, a local edition of the famed Tour de France race, is expected to draw large crowds and impact travel throughout the region.
The race features two courses – a 64-kilometer short circuit and a more challenging 134-kilometer long circuit – resulting in road closures and detours beginning early this morning.
Course Details
The shorter 64-kilometer course will take cyclists from the Córdoba Convention Center, through Ejército Argentino and La Calera, along Camino de las 100 curvas, past Paredón and over the Puente De La Sota, before finishing on the Córdoba–Carlos Paz highway back to the starting point.
The longer 134-kilometer course is more expansive, including passage by the Airport, along route E53, through Río Ceballos and Camino del Cuadrado, and into the Valle Hermoso area, passing Casa Grande, Cosquín, and the Punilla Highway, among other sectors.
Major Traffic Disruptions
For the short circuit, restrictions began at 6:00 AM on Circunvalación avenue (outer ring) between Mujer Urbana and the El Tropezón interchange. A complete closure is also in effect on route E55 between La Calera and the Costa Azul bypass.
