Local Groups Announce Saturday Events:
Amidst current global uncertainties, two local organizations are preparing for public events this Saturday, March 21, 2026. These gatherings promise a mix of historical commemoration and community celebration, reflecting a desire for connection and resilience.
The “Bande des Limouxins” group has announced an event centered around a figure described as “particularly frosty” who intends to establish a presence in a distant land. According to the group, inhabitants of that land – characterized as peaceful and penguin-like – are not alone, and a legendary figure has returned to intervene, supported by a motivated delegation. The event is scheduled for 11:15 AM on the Place de la République, with organizers promising surprises.
Separately, “La bande des Jouves” is commemorating its 60th anniversary. Founded in 1966 by Jean Louis Troques, Paul Baby, Jean Reverdy, Jean Ribes, and Alain Gastou, the group has been a fixture of the Place Jean-Jaurès, performing to the sound of local musicians Pépé Thibault, Philippe Bernard, and DD Rech from Beurette.
The Jouves are planning a return to 1966, inviting individuals who witnessed their early performances – including Chauvet, Fafy, Morant, Badoc, Henri Santistèbe, hospital staff, and Mme Pelissier – to an inauguration at Jo’s residence. The event will feature a “china” – a term used to describe a mix of classic and new elements – and a blending of generations. This event underscores the enduring power of local traditions and community bonds.
