The Lions will seem to even the series on home ice after falling in a tight contest Friday night at Vernets ice rink in the final moments of the game. This preview is presented by our main partner, Vaudoise Assurances.

The Difference Was in the Details

Game one was decided by a razor-thin margin Friday night. After a very physical start to the game where both rivals sought to establish dominance, the remainder of the match was a closely contested affair. Both goaltenders, along with their defenses, limited dangerous scoring opportunities for their opponents. The LHC’s penalty kill proved effective, successfully neutralizing all three power play chances for Genève-Servette. Discipline will be key throughout this series – avoiding penalties and capitalizing on opponent’s mistakes will be crucial. Despite numerous dangerous chances, Geoff Ward’s team was unable to uncover the back of the net against Stéphane Charlin in the game.

the result went to Genève-Servette HC. In the final minute of the match, Jesse Puljujärvi scored the game’s only goal, securing the first point of the quarterfinals. They were able to leverage the energy of their home crowd. The Lions will now enjoy that same home-ice advantage tonight, with a packed arena expected to provide the energy their players need.

The Series Continues

Game three is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25th at the Vernets ice rink. Then, on Friday, March 27th, the Lions will play game four at the Vaudoise Arena. All playoff games begin at 8:00 PM.
