Lithuania’s annual inflation rate, as calculated by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), reached 3.6% on Tuesday, according to data released by the State Data Agency.
The annual inflation rate calculated according to the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) was most significantly impacted by rising prices for heating, personal transport maintenance and repair, restaurant and café services, meat, spirits and liqueurs, cigarettes, holiday trips, beer, plants, seeds and flowers. Decreasing prices for used cars, gasoline, other personal transport fuels, and audio and video equipment also influenced the rate.
Month-over-month inflation – February compared to January – was 1%, whereas the CPI-calculated rate was 1.1%.
The average annual inflation rate – the last 12 months compared to the same period last year – calculated according to the HICP was 3.4%, and 3.8% according to the CPI.
