Catherine Harding, wife of Flamengo player Jorginho, shared that she and her daughter, Ada, decided to skip the second day of the Lollapalooza festival following an uncomfortable situation with singer Chappell Roan’s team. In her Instagram stories on Saturday night, March 21, Catherine said the two opted for a day of “girls’ shopping” followed by dinner.
“This was Ada’s reaction yesterday when she arrived to watch Sabrina Carpenter. Our daughter decided she didn’t want to go to the show tonight after how we were treated,” she wrote, sharing a video of her excited daughter from the festival’s first day. The incident highlights the increasing scrutiny of artist security protocols at major music events.
Catherine also thanked fans for the outpouring of support she received. “It’s okay,” she said, alongside a photo of her and Ada happily taken the previous day during Sabrina Carpenter’s performance.
Controversy with Chappell Roan
Jorginho, of Flamengo, took to social media on Saturday afternoon, March 21, to criticize the behavior of singer Chappell Roan and her team. According to the midfielder, his wife, Catherine Harding, and his stepdaughter, 11, traveled to São Paulo to attend the artist’s show that night at Lollapalooza.
Coincidentally, the two were staying at the same hotel as the singer, and the girl recognized her during breakfast. According to the soccer player, even without the girl directly approaching the artist, a security guard went to their table to reprimand her.
“She just walked past the singer’s table, looked to confirm it was her, smiled, and returned to the table with her mother. She didn’t say anything, didn’t ask for anything. What happened next was completely disproportionate. A large security guard went to their table while they were still having breakfast and began speaking to my wife and my daughter in an extremely aggressive manner, saying that she shouldn’t allow my daughter to ‘disrespect’ or ‘harass’ others,” the midfielder reported.
Ada is treated as a daughter by Jorginho, even though she is biologically the daughter of actress Catherine Harding and British actor Jude Law. The two dated for about 7 months, between 2014 and 2015.
