The EuroCup regular season is nearing its conclusion, with teams battling for positioning ahead of the upcoming playoff rounds. Tuesday’s action saw standout performances from several players, tho reigning league MVP Lomažs experienced an uncharacteristic shooting night . Elsewhere, Manresa continued its push toward securing a top-four seed in Group A, while multiple teams jockey for position in a tightly contested mid-table.
Lomažs struggled from the field Tuesday, shooting 1-of-5 from two-point range but converting 7-of-8 free throws as his team competed in a closely contested EuroCup matchup. He finished with 13 efficiency points, adding four rebounds, six assists, and forcing five opponent fouls in nearly 30 minutes of play.
The performance comes after a ten-game stretch where Lomažs had consistently scored at least 14 points in each EuroCup contest, including being named the league’s Most Valuable Player last week.
For the losing team, Zeinam Votermen led all scorers with 15 points and seven rebounds, while Umoja Gibson put up 25 points.
In a separate EuroCup game, Mārcis Šteinbergs and his Manresa squad secured a road victory, defeating Istanbul Bahcesehir Koleji 96-92. Šteinbergs contributed three rebounds in 17 minutes of action, though his one three-point attempt was off the mark. He also committed two turnovers and drew one foul.
Manresa now holds a record of eight wins in 14 games, placing them fifth in Group A. “Neptunas,” Lomažs’ team, is eighth with six wins, while Ainars Bagatskis’ Vroclavas “Slask” sits just below them in ninth, having won four of their 13 games. The results continue to shape the playoff picture in the competitive EuroCup league.
