The field of aesthetic medicine is shifting its focus from superficial cosmetic procedures to a more holistic approach that considers overall health, according to experts at a recent event. This evolving perspective was a central theme at the “Longevity: The Novel Era of Aesthetic & Rejuvenation Care” event hosted by Plasthetic Clinic on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Cipta Sari Ballroom in Jakarta.

Dr. Vania Aramita Sari, Founder and Owner of Plasthetic Clinic, explained that modern aesthetic practices are increasingly emphasizing long-term health, or longevity, rather than simply seeking immediate results. “Optimal beauty cannot be separated from the overall health of the body,” she said.

According to Dr. Vania, a specialist in plastic surgery, current aesthetic treatments should be personalized and integrated with a patient’s complete health profile. “There isn’t a single procedure that can deliver the best results on its own. Optimal results are usually achieved through a combination of appropriate approaches, along with improvements to overall body health,” she noted.

Innovations in aesthetic medicine, including fillers, skin boosters, and regenerative technologies, are all part of this ongoing evolution. However, Plasthetic Clinic is developing a holistic approach that integrates plastic surgery, aesthetic treatments, and wellness services into a single care ecosystem, with individualized care as a key component. This approach reflects a growing understanding of the interconnectedness of physical and aesthetic well-being.

Dr. Vania explained that a patient’s overall health significantly impacts both the results of aesthetic procedures and the recovery process. She illustrated this point by noting that two patients undergoing the same procedure can experience vastly different recovery times depending on factors like metabolism, hormone levels, and nutritional status.

Vitamin D deficiency is a common factor observed in her clinical practice, despite the vitamin’s crucial role in immune function, metabolism, and tissue healing. “Vitamin D is not just a vitamin; within the body, its function even resembles that of a hormone and has a significant impact on overall health,” Dr. Vania stated.

a thorough health assessment is an important step before undergoing more extensive medical procedures to ensure the body is in optimal condition. This wellness-focused approach is further supported by Plasthetic Clinic’s subbrand, Plasthetic Wellness, which offers supportive therapies such as Hyperbaric Chamber treatments and IV Nutrition Therapy.

Dr. Elizabeth Ravinka Rossabel, an aesthetic doctor at Plasthetic Clinic, added that personalized healthcare is now also supported by genetic testing technology. Genetic tests can support doctors understand an individual’s bodily functions at the DNA level, including metabolic tendencies, sensitivities to certain nutrients, and risks for specific health conditions.

“Genes can be likened to a blueprint for our bodies. Everyone has a different genetic makeup, so the body’s response to food, exercise, and treatment can also vary,” she explained.

Another aesthetic doctor at Plasthetic Clinic, Dr. AemaY. Amir, highlighted the advancements in skin booster technology, which has turn into a popular treatment in skin care. Skin boosters are micro-injection procedures designed to improve skin quality from within by enhancing hydration, elasticity, and tissue structure.

“Skin boosters are not only for addressing signs of aging, but also for improving various skin problems such as dry skin, dullness, large pores, and acne scars,” she said.

Active ingredients used in skin boosters include hyaluronic acid, DNA-based polynucleotides, collagen biostimulators, and the latest technology based on secretome, a derivative of stem cells. During the event, Plasthetic Clinic also introduced several new treatments, including a Fat Loss Program, an innovative Deep Hydration treatment based on skin boosters, and a new concept called Redefining Body Contouring, designed to provide more comprehensive body care solutions.
