Teenager’s Classic Style Goes Viral Amidst Louvre Heist Investigation

A 15-year-old student’s distinctive vintage attire captured the internet’s attention after he was photographed near the Louvre Museum in Paris following the theft of French crown jewels, though he has confirmed he has no connection to the investigation.

Pedro Elias Garzon Delvaux, a high school student from Rambouillet, found himself at the center of online speculation after an image of him in a three-piece suit and fedora circulated widely on social media. The theft, estimated at €88 million ($102m), prompted a large-scale investigation and raised concerns about security at the world-renowned museum. Pedro explained to CNN that he was at the Louvre with his mother and grandfather on October 19 when they discovered it was closed due to the incident. “In the moment, it was, like, very funny. And we went back to the Louvre to see the reaction of the people,” he said. “People maybe recognized me, but I’m not sure.”

Pedro’s penchant for classic style, particularly 1940s fashion, began after dressing as French resistance hero Jean Moulin for carnival. His mother, Félicité Garzon Delvaux, noted that he quickly realized the impact his attire had on others, saying, “Everyone looked impressed. Okay, something is happening there.” The family, with a history steeped in art and diplomacy – his mother grew up surrounded by art and his father works as a diplomat – has fostered an appreciation for beauty and style. Pedro’s unique wardrobe includes a vintage Soviet watch sourced from Calcutta and a suit commissioned in Bangladesh at age 12, reflecting the family’s travels and taste. Despite his sophisticated style, Pedro remains grounded, describing himself as having “a lot of aura” among his peers. He is considering a future in diplomacy or the military, perhaps drawn to the uniforms, but for now, he continues to embrace his unique fashion sense. His mother emphasized the importance of aesthetics within their family, stating, “The beauty of things is always very important in our family.” He also confirmed he does not own any sweatpants. Authorities continue to investigate the theft of the crown jewels, and have not commented on the viral attention surrounding the image of the stylish teenager.
