- Apple is likely to introduce a new MacBook model today, March 4th
- It is expected to be a new entry-level model, without “Pro” or “Air” in the name
- Leaked documents refer to the “MacBook Neo”
Apple has been steadily revealing new hardware throughout the week. The iPhone 17e has already been announced, as have new Apple monitors – the Studio Displays – MacBook Pro and MacBook Air with M5 chips, and a new iPad Air. The company is expected to continue the announcements today, Wednesday, with the MacBook Neo.
The name “Neo” (Model A3404) and associated documentation briefly appeared on an Apple webpage before being removed by the manufacturer, MacRumors reports. This leak suggests Apple is preparing to expand its MacBook lineup with a more accessible option.
Preliminary details gleaned from the leaked documents indicate the MacBook Neo will feature two USB-C ports and a MagSafe port for charging. It will also support the latest Wi-Fi 7 standard.
According to reports, Apple’s new entry-level notebook will be available in a range of vibrant colors and will not utilize a processor from the M-series chip family. Instead, it is expected to incorporate an A18 Pro or A19 Pro chip currently found in iPhones. The display is rumored to measure 12.9 inches diagonally. Further details regarding the MacBook Neo are anticipated to be released throughout the day.
