Apple’s new MacBook Neo marks a significant shift for the company, becoming the first laptop to utilize a chip from the A series – specifically the A18 Pro. Previously, Apple laptops relied on Intel processors and, more recently, the company’s own M-series chips.

The MacBook Neo features a 13-inch display and offers two USB-C ports, though it does not support MagSafe charging. Apple promises up to 16 hours of battery life with the new model.

The laptop includes stereo speakers positioned on either side, and a 3.5mm headphone jack is located on the left side.

Two versions of the MacBook Neo will be available, priced at $600 and $700 respectively. The $600 model will include 256GB of storage and will not feature Touch ID. The $700 version upgrades the storage to 512GB and adds Touch ID for fingerprint authentication.

Apple is offering the MacBook Neo in a range of colors, including silver, indigo, blush, and citrus. This represents a more colorful approach to laptop design for the company.

The MacBook Neo is currently available for pre-order and is scheduled to ship on March 11. This launch positions Apple to offer a more accessible entry point into its laptop ecosystem, potentially attracting a wider range of consumers.
