Mads Mikkelsen is set to appear at Comic-Con Prague this Friday, March 13, 2026, organizers announced over the weekend.
The Danish actor, currently filming in the Czech Republic with Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Jennifer Lawrence on the movie What Happens at Night, will be available for photo opportunities and autographs for a fee of 2990 Czech Koruna (approximately $125 USD).
Mikkelsen began his career as a professional dancer before transitioning to acting in the mid-1990s. He first appeared in the 1996 Danish thriller Dealer, playing a drug addict.
He gained wider recognition for his role in the television series Rejseholdet, which ran from 2000 to 2004 and earned an Emmy Award.
Following early successes in Scandinavian productions, Mikkelsen’s career expanded internationally with roles in films like King Arthur alongside Clive Owen and Keira Knightley, and as Le Chiffre in Casino Royale. He also starred in the Danish drama The Celebration, which was filmed in Prague.

Mikkelsen most recently starred in the horror drama Dust Creature.
He has since appeared in films such as The Three Musketeers, A Royal Affair, and Hunt, for which he won Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival. He also received two European Film Awards for his performances in The Hangover and Bastards.
Mikkelsen also has a background in theater, but his invitation to Comic-Con Prague is largely due to his prominent roles in Hollywood films.
His film credits include Kaecilius in Doctor Strange, Galen Erso in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Gellert Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, a role he took over from Johnny Depp. He also played Jürgen Voller, a Nazi astrophysicist, in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Mikkelsen is also known for his portrayal of Hannibal Lecter in the television series of the same name, and for voicing Cliff Unger in the video game Death Stranding.
This year’s Comic-Con will take place from March 13-15, 2026, at the O2 universum in Prague. In addition to Mikkelsen, Iain Glen from Game of Thrones, Robert Llewelyn from Red Dwarf, and Billy Boyd, who played Peregrin Took (Pippin) in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, are scheduled to attend. Giancarlo Esposito has reportedly canceled his appearance, according to the event website.
Czech talent will also be represented, including Jiřà Lábus, Bára Štěpánová, and authors František Kotleta (aka Leoš Kyša) and Kristýna Sněgoňová.
