Latvian television personality Magone Liedeskalna caused a stir at the “Miss Hotel” beauty contest on March 19, delivering a performance that included climbing the stage’s metal framework. The incident, which occurred as Liedeskalna competed alongside three other contestants, has quickly gained attention online.
The competition began with a standard catwalk challenge, where participants were asked to demonstrate their posing skills, mimicking a professional photoshoot. Liedeskalna, known for her appearances on the reality show “Celebrities. Without Filter,” reportedly expressed skepticism about the poses requested, questioning, “These poses are like a half-porn star’s! What is that even?”
Early in the contest, one contestant unexpectedly left the stage, which Liedeskalna and her friend Ilva attributed to stage fright and the pressure of performing before an audience. “Gaze who’s arrived, Megija! Where there is strength, everyone gives up, reads in the papers and no longer participates,” Liedeskalna commented on the withdrawal.
When it was her turn to perform, Liedeskalna made a bold statement, shouting “Yes!” into the microphone, prompting the event’s host to exclaim, “What power, applause!” She then deviated from traditional beauty pageant norms, performing a dance to rap music with energetic hip movements. The host praised her performance as “tasty, fun and sexy. Bravo!”
However, it was her final act that drew the most attention. Liedeskalna concluded her performance by climbing the metal structure of the stage, eliciting gasps and a wave of applause from the audience. The unconventional move has sparked discussion about the boundaries of performance art and competition within the beauty pageant world.
