Fans of both Sonic and Mega Man have a reason to celebrate, as Mega Man is set to join the roster of Sonic Racing: Crossworlds on March 25. The addition marks a unique crossover, bringing a character from Capcom’s iconic franchise into the world of high-speed racing.
Unlike Sega’s guest characters, which are typically offered as free additions, Mega Man will be a premium character, requiring a purchase – though he is included with the season pass. Along with Mega Man, players will too gain access to Proto Man and the Rush Roadster vehicle. The update also introduces a fresh course inspired by Dr. Wily’s Castle, complete with a remixed version of the famous theme from Mega Man 2’s Dr. Wily stage.
Sega and Capcom have released a teaser showcasing the new music. The track offers a preview of how the classic Mega Man sound will translate to the racing environment. You can check out the video below, and be sure to turn up the volume.
The addition of Mega Man to Sonic Racing: Crossworlds highlights the growing trend of cross-franchise collaborations in the gaming industry, offering players unique and unexpected content. According to reports from Nintendo Everything, Essential Japan, and Gematsu, the Mega Man Pack will be available starting March 25.
