Despite reaching the Final Four, Jakarta Pertamina Enduro concluded the regular season with a loss, falling to Gresik Phonska Plus Pupuk Indonesia 3-0 (20-25, 20-25, 17-25).
Megawati was among the players scrutinized following the recent performance. Addressing the situation, the former Red Sparks player emphasized that the entire team underperformed in the last match.
“It wasn’t about focusing on one individual. If I played poorly, it wouldn’t be highlighted, because we play as a team. We can’t rely on just one player. Even if one player is strong, it won’t work if the others aren’t performing. And if one player struggles, it’s solid if the others can compensate on the court,” Megawati explained when speaking with reporters at GOR Simprug, Senayan, on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026.
“So, personally, if you all thought we didn’t play well in the last game, it wasn’t just me, but perhaps all of us were lacking in that match,” she added.
However, Megawati and her team aren’t dwelling on the setback. With a month remaining before the Final Four begins, they will focus on preparation and strive for improved performance.
“We have many areas where we necessitate to improve. We will learn from past mistakes and won’t become complacent with previous results. We will work to improve everything, across all positions,” Megawati stated.
“Hopefully, we can deliver our best performance and maintain our current standing,” she said.
Regarding strategy for the Final Four, Megawati deferred to the JPE coaching staff.
“There are strategies, but those are the coach’s secrets, and I won’t reveal them. We will be better than we have been in previous matches,” Megawati affirmed.
