MELODIFESTIVALEN 2026. With the final completed and Sweden’s representative Felicia with ”My System” chosen for Eurovision 2026, SVT has now presented the exact voting results of this year’s selection. This article breaks down the numbers from all the heats, the final qualifier, and the grand final.

You can scroll through the article or click directly on any of the links to learn more about the results of a specific show.

The first heat took place on January 31st at the SAAB Arena in Linköping. Competing were A-Teens, Greczula, Indra, Jacqline, Junior Lerin and Noll2. The broadcast was decided in three rounds:

– First, viewers voted for one finalist based solely on votes in the app and traditional phone voting, with the contestant receiving the highest total sum winning and becoming a finalist.

– Next, viewers could vote for a short time before being divided into eight voting groups, each awarding points of 12, 10, 8, 5 and 3, with the contestant receiving the highest sum likewise becoming a finalist.

– The place in the final qualifier went to the contestant of the four remaining who received the most total votes throughout the heat.

1. Greczula
(1,400,783 votes)

2. A-Teens

(1,351,878 + 1,006,400
= total votes)

2. Jacqline
(1,128,848 + 662,532
= 1,791,380 total votes)

3. Noll2
(1,004,889 + 599,395
= 1,604,284 total votes)

4. Junior Lerin
(937,350 + 577,933
= 1,515,283 total votes)

5. Indra

= 1,417,761 total votes)

*The artists are compiled based on the total ranking among the five remaining in the round. The one listed in bold won the round in points, while the one in bold italics went to the final qualifier. In the total votes, the results of round 1 + round 2 = total votes for the entry are listed.

Overall comment

In the first round, Greczula won – but A-Teens were only 48,905 votes from overtaking them (the smallest difference between two entries in all the heat’s first voting rounds this year). The second round was clearly won by A-Teens, who also received the most total votes among the five competing in round 2. Jacqline also secured third place in this heat by being second in both the points voting and the number of total votes. However, it can be seen that there is a difference between the three who were eliminated in votes and points. Here, for example, Indra received a higher point total than votes because she was third in points but last in the number of votes, while Noll2 and Junior Lerin received more votes.

If SVT had reset the counters between the rounds and only counted votes as the result, A-Teens would still have gone to the final with 343,868 more votes than Jacqline, who would still have gotten a place in the final qualifier.

For fourth-placed Noll2 to reach at least the qualifying spot, they would have needed at least 187,096 more votes!

The second heat took place on February 7th at Scandinavium in Gothenburg. Competing were Arwin, Brandsta City Släckers, Felicia, Klara Almström, Laila Adèle and Robin Bengtsson. The broadcast was decided in three rounds:

– Next, viewers could vote for a short time before being divided into eight voting groups, each awarding points of 12, 10, 8, 5 and 3, with the contestant receiving the highest sum also becoming a finalist.

Overall comment

In a way, the voting pattern in this heat was consistent throughout all three rounds, with the same top three. It’s worth noting that Felicia only appeared in the first round. The second round was clearly won by Brandsta City Släckers, who also received the most total votes among the five competing in round 2. The Swedish national selection continues to be a popular event, drawing large audiences and significant donations to charity.

If SVT had reset the counters between the rounds, the result would have been the same: Felicia would have gone to the final in the first round, Brandsta City Släckers would have gotten the second final spot, and Robin Bengtsson would have gotten the qualifier spot.

For fourth-placed Arwin to reach at least the qualifying spot, he would have needed at least 562,307 more votes!

The third heat took place on February 14th at Kristianstad Arena in Kristianstad. Competing were Emilia Pantić, Eva Jumatate, Korslagda, Medina, Patrik Jean and Saga Ludvigsson. The broadcast was decided in three rounds:

Overall comment

Similar to the third heat, the voting pattern remained consistent across all rounds. Medina won, Saga Ludvigsson came in second, and Eva Jumatate secured a place in the final qualifier. It’s worth noting that while Saga Ludvigsson won the second round, Eva Jumatate had a higher total vote count.

If SVT had reset the counters between the rounds, the results would have been the same.

For fourth-placed Korslagda to reach at least the qualifying spot, they would have needed at least 444,620 more votes!

The fourth heat took place on February 21st at Malmö Arena in Malmö. Competing were Cimberly, Erika Jonsson, Felix Manu, Meira Omar, Smash Into Pieces and Timo Räisänen. The broadcast was decided in three rounds:

  • Number of total votes:
  • 7,665,102 votes

  • 410,318 kronor

Overall comment

In this heat, there was more of a shift in the results than in the first three. Notably, Meira Omar received 233,864 more votes than Cimberly, but because the points were what counted, it was Cimberly who got the final spot. If only total votes had counted, the result would have been reversed. It can also be noted that the difference between the three who were eliminated in votes and points was small. Here, for example, Indra received a higher point total than votes because she was third in points but last in the number of votes, while Noll2 and Junior Lerin received more votes.

If SVT had reset the counters between the rounds, Meira Omar would have gone to the final and Cimberly to the final qualifier, with the rest of the list remaining the same.

For fourth-placed Erika Jonsson to reach at least the qualifying spot, she would have needed 652,006 more votes!
