Mexico City. Mexico’s Attorney General, Ernestina Godoy Ramos, announced the appointment of 11 new state-level prosecutors on Monday, March 3, 2026, with six of the positions filled by women. The reshuffling of personnel aims to bolster the effectiveness of the federal prosecutor’s offices across the country and align with the security cabinet’s broader objectives.
The appointments represent an internal restructuring intended to strengthen the coordination and performance of the federal delegations, now referred to as Federal Public Ministry Units. Godoy Ramos acknowledged the experience of the newly appointed prosecutors during a meeting, expressing confidence in their success and pledging full institutional support.
“Their function constitutes a high responsibility to face with integrity, professionalism, full disposition and firm commitment the challenges in the matter,” Godoy Ramos stated.
Teófila González Lozada was named the prosecutor for Baja California, having previously served as a subdelegate for criminal proceedings. Margarita Galván Rodríguez will lead the prosecutor’s office in Campeche, after serving as Chief Prosecutor of the Investigation and Litigation Team I in the Federal Public Ministry in Guanajuato, León sub-headquarters, since 2021.
Laura Gabriela Chang Marroquín was appointed to head the office in Mexico City. She previously served as the head of the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Investigation and Litigation of Complex Cases within the FECOR since 2022.
Rosalía Juárez Ramírez and Ana Cristina Maturano Ramos were selected to lead the prosecutor’s offices in Durango and Hidalgo, respectively. Juárez Ramírez brings over 20 years of experience as a public prosecutor, even as Maturano Ramos has a background as a public prosecutor and legal advisor.
Enrique Landeros Curiel will oversee operations in Jalisco, bringing experience as Chief Prosecutor of the Investigation and Litigation Team in Zapopán. Mario Esquivel Ayala was appointed to lead the office in Nayarit, having previously served as a public prosecutor in the state’s Federal Public Ministry.
José Guadalupe González Guajardo will head the prosecutor’s office in Nuevo León. He previously served as the head of the first investigating table of the Mixed Inquisitorial Criminal Procedure System Unit in the Federal Public Ministry in Reynosa, Tamaulipas.
Damaris Baglietto Hernández was named the prosecutor for Oaxaca. Since March 2023, she served as head of the Investigation and Litigation Unit in the Federal Public Ministry in Mexico City, and similarly held subdelegate positions in various entities.
Gabriel Campos Piña was appointed to San Luis Potosí, transitioning from his role as Federal Prosecutor in Nayarit. Manuel Eduardo León Torres will lead the office in Tamaulipas, bringing experience as a public prosecutor and Chief Prosecutor.
The Attorney General’s Office noted that all appointees possess strong legal backgrounds and extensive experience as public prosecutors within the institution. The appointments underscore the FGR’s commitment to strengthening its regional presence and improving the administration of justice throughout Mexico.
