Italy has a wealth of medal opportunities on the second day of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, with competitions spanning alpine skiing, biathlon, snowboarding, speed skating, and figure skating.

The day’s action kicks off at 11:30 AM with the women’s downhill ski race on the legendary Olympia delle Tofane course in Cortina d’Ampezzo. All eyes will be on Italian favorites Sofia Goggia and Federica Brignone, but Laura Pirovano is also poised to challenge for a spot on the podium.

The competition then shifts to Livigno for the parallel giant slalom snowboarding event, where Italy is a strong contender. Italian men dominated the World Cup season in this discipline with five wins in seven races, and the women’s team also looks promising.

Simultaneously, biathlon events begin in Anterselva with the mixed relay, featuring Tommaso Giacomel, Lukas Hofer, Lisa Vittozzi, and Dorothea Wierer, all aiming for a medal.

The afternoon will spotlight Davide Ghiotto in the 5,000-meter speed skating race, while the evening will conclude with the team event in figure skating.

Rounding out the day’s schedule are matches in the mixed doubles curling round robin. Constantini and Mosaner are scheduled for a double header, first against the Czech Republic and then against Great Britain.
