Mirassol Health Fair: Free Services & Chikungunya Vaccine Available This Saturday

The city of Mirassol is expanding access to healthcare services with a special health fair throughout February, offering medical consultations, dental care, vaccinations, and other essential services. This initiative aims to address healthcare needs and promote preventative care within the community.
 
The health fair includes extended Saturday hours at participating health centers: Regissol, Cohab II, Vila Verde, Centro de Saúde II (Postão), and Jardim Renascença. These centers will provide medical and dental services from 7 a.m. To 1 p.m. On Saturdays.
 
The vaccination center will be open from 7 a.m. To 5 p.m., offering routine immunizations and the fresh chikungunya vaccine. The Central Pharmacy will be available from 8 a.m. To 2 p.m. For medication refills, and the Prosad – Adolescent Health Program – will operate from 7 a.m. To 1 p.m.
 
This Saturday, February 28th, marks the final day of the extended health fair schedule.
 
Chikungunya Vaccination
Mirassol was the first city in Brazil to begin offering vaccinations against chikungunya, with the campaign launching on February 2nd. The vaccine was developed by Valneva, in partnership with the Butantan Institute, with support from Funfarme and the Mirassol City Hall.
 
As of the latest data, 3,210 residents have received the chikungunya vaccine. The vaccine is recommended for individuals between the ages of 18 and 59 and was approved by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) in April 2025, with strategic implementation in select municipalities.
