A Saudi Arabian sports analyst has criticized training methods within the country’s clubs following a season-ending injury to Al-Ittihad midfielder Mohamed Dombia.
The analyst, speaking on social media platform X, lamented the loss of what he described as a “tremendous talent” due to the injury. “We are losing a great talent in Dombia due to injuries, unfortunately our clubs are to blame, after God’s will and decree,” he wrote. “If he were in Europe, he wouldn’t have been injured, due to the fact that there is correct training, not an hour and a half as if you are going to a health club.”
The analyst called for a review of club policies, suggesting longer training days. “Clubs must review their policies and have sessions run from 4 PM to 10 PM… the days of pampering are over.”
Dombia’s injury is a significant blow to Al-Ittihad, as the team looks to continue its strong form in the league. The severity of the injury will likely impact the club’s plans for the remainder of the season.
