Tanger Med isn’t just a port; it’s a significant industrial complex, hosting over 1,100 companies and generating approximately €8 billion in annual export business as of 2020, according to available data. These companies operate in sectors including automotive, aeronautics, food processing, logistics and textiles.
The port complex similarly handles a substantial volume of passenger traffic – 7 million passengers annually – as well as 700,000 trucks and the export of 1 million vehicles. Tanger Med Group, the operator and developer of the port, describes the facility as a “global port complex” and a “regional platform for industrial competitiveness.”
