Morocco returned to Greenwich Mean Time plus one hour (GMT+1) in the early hours of Sunday, March 22, 2026. Clocks were moved forward 60 minutes at 2:00 a.m. Local time.
The time change marks the end of a temporary period during which the country observed GMT while observing the month of Ramadan. The return to GMT+1 restores Morocco’s standard time, in accordance with decree n°2-18-855 of October 26, 2018, concerning legal time, and implementing order n°3-10-24, published on February 22, 2024, regarding the change of legal time.
Morocco had initially shifted its clocks back one hour on February 15, 2026, at 3:00 a.m., temporarily adopting GMT for the duration of Ramadan. With the change that took effect Sunday, the nation has now resumed its usual legal time of GMT+1.
