MotoGP fans will have a brief pause in the action after the drama unfolded in Thailand. The series takes a break this weekend, with competition resuming at the 2026 Brazilian MotoGP, scheduled for the weekend immediately following the Lebaran holiday.
The second round of the 2026 MotoGP season in Brazil is set to run from March 20-23. This extended break from the opening round provides a crucial opportunity for defending champion Marc Marquez to assess his less-than-satisfactory performance at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram two weeks ago.
Marquez was unable to reach the podium in Thailand after receiving a penalty and struggling with tire issues. The incident cost him valuable early-season points, dropping him to eighth in the championship standings.

Race After Lebaran
This week’s hiatus will be used by the top teams to prepare for their trip to Latin America. Pedro Acosta and Marco Bezzecchi, currently leading the championship standings, will be looking to maintain their momentum. For fans in Indonesia, the Brazilian race will provide entertainment following the Lebaran celebrations.
Notably, this marks the return of MotoGP to Brazil after a three-decade absence. The last premier-class race on Brazilian soil was held in 1992 at Interlagos. Due to time zone differences, the main race will take place on Monday, March 23rd, in the early hours of WIB time.
