Motorola has officially unveiled its first foldable smartphone in the “Fold” format, building on its legacy of Razr flip phones. The company provided full technical details of its Razr Fold, including its price point.
Enhanced Durability with Gorilla Ceramic
The Razr Fold features an 8.09-inch internal AMOLED display with LTPO technology, boasting a peak brightness of 6200 cd/m². The device also incorporates a unique feature: a Gorilla Ceramic 3 exterior display protector, a first for the material. Previously, Samsung utilized this technology on its Galaxy S24 Ultra and Galaxy S25 Ultra, while the recently released S26 Ultra reverted to Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Motorola has not previously offered this level of screen protection.
The device also boasts an IP49 rating, offering resistance to fine particles and pressurized water. Motorola prioritized durability in the Razr Fold’s design.
Form Factor and Battery Capacity
When closed, the Razr Fold measures 160.05 x 73.6 x 9.89 mm, and thins to 4.55 mm when unfolded. While not the slimmest foldable on the market—that distinction belongs to the Honor Magic V5 and V6—We see thinner than the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold. At 243g, the Razr Fold is lighter than Google’s model but heavier than its South Korean competitors. This weight is noticeable in hand.
Despite its relatively slim profile, the Razr Fold features a prominent camera module. This module houses three 50-megapixel sensors (wide-angle, ultrawide-angle, and telephoto with 3x optical zoom), seemingly inherited from the Motorola Signature. The two devices also share a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, 12 to 16 GB of RAM, and storage options ranging from 256 GB to 1 TB.
The Razr Fold is powered by a 6000 mAh battery, placing it among the best in the foldable market. Motorola states the device supports 80W fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
Motorola is making a significant push into the premium mobile space, and its pricing reflects that. The device will start at €1999, and the company promises 7 years of software updates and security patches. The Razr Fold is expected to be available between May and June.
