LAC-ETCHEMIN, Quebec – The Moulin La Lorraine arts center launched its spring-summer season on March 14 with a showcase of new exhibitions exploring themes of memory, identity, and the natural world. The center’s programming blends traditional and digital art forms, reflecting a growing trend of cross-disciplinary approaches within the cultural sector.
Featured in the Salle des Courroies is “L’ombre inondée de lumières” (The Shadow Flooded with Light), a collection of 23 large-format photographs by local artist Yoland Laflamme. The exhibition, running through September 6, 2026, utilizes intentional blur techniques to explore the interplay of light and shadow as metaphors for inner conflict and self-discovery. Laflamme’s work, inspired by Impressionism and William Turner, invites viewers to contemplate their own experiences and emotions. More information about the artist can be found here.
As well on display, Pascal Normand’s exhibition in the Salle Pierre-Beaudoin uses photography, digital techniques, and aerosol art to revisit collective memories of architectural environments. Guy Cusson’s work, showcased in the Moulin Hall, features photographs and sculptures centered around water and wood, echoing themes from his literary work. Both Normand’s and Cusson’s exhibitions will conclude on August 30, 2026.
Laflamme will also host a photography workshop on June 13, 2026, at 1:00 PM. The Moulin La Lorraine’s spring-summer program also includes the Journées des moulins (Mill Days) on June 27 and 28, and the Pique-nique des créateurs (Creators’ Picnic) on July 19. Details about the Salle des courroies can be found here.
