Moviegoers in Chile are getting ready for one of the most anticipated events of the year. The Día del Cine (Cinema Day) is returning this April, offering massive discounts on tickets across the country to encourage fans of the seventh art to flood back into theaters.
Mark Your Calendars: Dates and Ticket Pre-sales
This year’s celebration will span three days, taking place from Monday, April 20, to Wednesday, April 22, 2026. To help manage the expected crowds and avoid long lines, a pre-sale period has been announced for April 15, 2026.
Fans can secure their seats in advance through the official websites and mobile apps of the participating cinema chains, or by visiting the theaters in person. Pre-sale tickets are only available for movies that will be playing during the three-day event window.
Pricing: From Standard Screens to Premium Experiences
The promotion offers two distinct pricing tiers depending on the viewing experience chosen:

- Standard Formats ($2,000 CLP): This discounted rate applies to traditional 2D and 3D screenings. This also includes specialized options such as Aera Dolby Atmos and “Play” rooms, which are specifically designed for children.
- Special Formats ($4,000 CLP): For those seeking a more immersive experience, premium screenings—including IMAX, 4DX, Prime, Premium, and MX4D—will be available at a flat rate of four thousand pesos. This represents a discount of more than 50% off the regular ticket price.
Participating Cinema Chains
Several of the country’s major cinema operators are joining the initiative to make the movies more accessible to the general public. Participating chains include Cinépolis, Cinemark, Cineplanet, Muvix, and Cine Star.
This wide-scale participation underscores the industry’s commitment to driving box office traffic and providing families with an affordable entertainment option during the spring season.
