MSI Unveils Cubi NUC AI+ 3MG: A Compact Copilot+ PC for Professionals
MSI has expanded its mini PC lineup with the introduction of the Cubi NUC AI+ 3MG, a professional-grade system designed to bring high-performance AI capabilities to a remarkably tiny footprint. Unveiled on January 7, 2026, at CES, the device leverages Intel’s latest Panther Lake architecture to deliver a Copilot+ PC experience within a chassis measuring just 0.51 liters and 37.5mm in height.
The Cubi NUC AI+ 3MG is positioned specifically for the enterprise and professional markets, prioritizing AI efficiency and productivity over gaming. By integrating Intel’s AI Boost, MSI claims the system can achieve up to 100 total TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second), comfortably exceeding the requirements for Windows Copilot+ support.
Panther Lake Power and AI Performance
The system offers a range of Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processor options, tailored to different workload demands. The top-tier configuration features the Intel Core Ultra 9 386H, a 16-core CPU with a maximum turbo frequency of 4.9 GHz and an NPU capable of delivering 50 TOPS of AI performance. This specific chip likewise provides a significant connectivity advantage with 20 PCIe lanes (12 PCIe Gen 5 and 8 PCIe Gen 4).

For users with different requirements, MSI also offers the Core Ultra 7 355 (8 cores, 49 TOPS NPU) and the Core Ultra 5 322 (6 cores, 46 TOPS NPU). Although these processors utilize entry-level Intel Graphics with 2 to 4 Xe3-cores rather than the full-scale Arc B390 iGPU, they provide the necessary compute power for professional AI tasks. This shift toward specialized AI hardware in mini PCs signals a broader industry trend of integrating neural processing units (NPUs) directly into compact workstations to handle local AI workloads.
Enterprise-Grade Connectivity and Expandability
Despite its diminutive size, the Cubi NUC AI+ 3MG is designed for high-density workflows. It supports quad-display setups via a combination of dual HDMI 2.1 ports and dual Thunderbolt 4 ports. The Thunderbolt 4 connectivity also allows professionals to expand the system’s graphical capabilities through an external GPU (eGPU) if required.
The port selection is comprehensive, featuring:
- Two Thunderbolt 4 ports (40 Gbps)
- One USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port (10 Gbps)
- One USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port (10 Gbps)
- One USB 2.0 Type-A port (480 Mbps)
- Dual 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports
On the wireless front, the device supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, though base models may be configured with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. For hardware longevity, MSI has included two SODIMM slots for user-replaceable DDR5 memory and a single M.2 slot for PCIe NVMe storage.
Designed for the Modern Workspace
To maintain performance in such a tight enclosure, MSI has implemented the Frozr AI PRO cooling system. The device also includes several features tailored for business environments, including a fingerprint-integrated power button for secure access, a Kensington lock for physical security, and support for VESA mounting to save desk space.
The launch of the Cubi NUC AI+ 3MG highlights the ongoing evolution of the NUC ecosystem, moving toward highly specialized, AI-accelerated hardware that allows enterprises to deploy powerful computing capabilities without the require for traditional tower PCs.
