Approximately 25,000 vehicles entered Bodrum on Thursday, according to reports, prompting a welcome from the local Kaymakam (district governor). The influx of visitors signals a busy holiday period for the region, known for its historical sites and coastal beauty.
Traffic was similarly heavy in Dalyan, a tourist destination in Muğla, as it prepares to welcome domestic travelers during the holiday. The region anticipates a significant economic boost from the increased tourism.
Authorities have deployed 9,102 personnel to manage the holiday period and ensure public safety, mugladevrim.com.tr reported. A traditional Bayramlaşma (Eid al-Adha celebration) ceremony was also held in Muğla.
Travelers heading to Bodrum from Dalyan can expect a journey of roughly 193 kilometers, taking approximately 3 hours and 14 minutes by car, kmhesaplama.com states. Antalya Net Seyahat operates bus service between Ortaca and Bodrum twice daily, with a travel time of 3 hours and 29 minutes, according to Rome2rio.
