The warning covers two inland areas: Campo de Cartagena and Mazarrón and the Altiplano region. Gusts could reach up to 70 kilometers per hour (approximately 43 miles per hour) in both areas, beginning at 8:00 AM local time in Campo de Cartagena and Mazarrón and 10:00 AM in the Altiplano, and continuing through midnight on March 4th. The probability of these conditions occurring is estimated between 40% and 70%, with winds coming from the northeast.
Coastal areas of Campo de Cartagena and Mazarrón are also under a yellow alert, effective from midnight on March 3rd through midnight on March 4th. Northeasterly winds of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour (31 to 37 miles per hour) are forecast, accompanied by waves of 2 to 3 meters (approximately 6.5 to 10 feet). A similar coastal warning is in effect for the Valle del Guadalentín, Lorca, and Águilas regions, beginning at 4:00 PM on March 3rd and lasting until midnight. This alert also anticipates northeasterly winds of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour and waves of 2 to 3 meters.
