Eighty-four people were injured in a barrage of Iranian missiles that struck southern Israel on the night of March 20, 2026, according to Israel’s Magen David Adom emergency service. The attack, a direct response to Israeli actions, has prompted calls for international intervention and raised concerns about escalating regional conflict.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the area of Arad, in southern Israel, hit by the Iranian missile strikes, and addressed the ongoing military actions against Iran, now in their 23rd day. He stated that the United States and Israel are working together for the benefit of the entire world.

“It is time for other countries’ leaders to join this process,” Netanyahu said. “I am pleased to see some are taking steps in that direction, but more is needed.”

Netanyahu too noted that former U.S. President Donald Trump has called on the international community to take action against the Iranian government, stating, “The time to act is now.”

The Prime Minister outlined two primary objectives in their strikes against Iran: to completely dismantle Tehran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs, and to create the conditions necessary for the Iranian people to “overthrow the regime.”

Netanyahu asserted that they have made “significant progress” toward achieving the first goal and expressed hope for success in the second. The development underscores growing regional tensions and the complex challenges facing Israel’s leadership.

84 Injured in Arad Following Iranian Retaliation

The missile that directly hit an area in Arad was part of a retaliatory strike launched by Iran against Israel following a joint U.S.-Israeli offensive.

Magen David Adom reported that of the 84 injured, 10 were in serious condition, 19 were in moderate condition, and 55 sustained minor injuries. Four individuals were treated for panic attacks.

A separate Iranian missile also struck the city of Dimona, with reports of multiple injuries. Numerous areas across southern Israel were impacted by falling debris from the missile barrage.

The Iranian attacks involved waves of missiles launched throughout the night.
