‘Never Change!’ Comedy Series Adds Sofia Black-D’Elia, Jo Firestone to Cast
The Hulu and American High comedy series Never Change! has announced its full cast, including Sofia Black-D’Elia, Jo Firestone, Carmen Christopher, and Gary Richardson, joining John Reynolds who also penned the script.
Currently in production in Syracuse, New York, utilizing American High’s campus and surrounding areas, Never Change! centers on the graduating class of North Meadows High School whose senior year was abruptly ended by a devastating tornado in 2005. The series will follow the former classmates as they are compelled to return and finally complete their high school education in their mid-30s. This premise taps into the growing trend of reboots and nostalgic storytelling resonating with millennial audiences.
Black-D’Elia will portray Katie Cartwright, with Christopher as Tedi Mayo, Firestone as Amelia Nadler, Reynolds as Sunny Football, and Richardson as Curtis Eldridge. Richardson, a five-time Emmy nominee, is also a co-executive producer on HBO’s The Chair Company and previously wrote for Saturday Night Live. Black-D’Elia is known for her role in Single Drunk Female, while Firestone has appeared in Joe Pera Talks with You and Reynolds is recognized for his work on Search Party. Production is expected to continue through the fall, with a release date for Never Change! yet to be announced. Producers include Jon Watts, Nicholas Hatton, Jason Woliner, Jeremy Garelick, Will Phelps, Billy Rosenberg, and Jason Zaro, with Molle Debartolo, Axelle Azoulay, and Matt Sacca serving as executive and co-producers.
