France Télévisions’ Outre-mer division will broadcast the New Caledonia-Jamaica match across all of its Réseau des 1ère channels.
A historic moment for Caledonian football is on the horizon as New Caledonia (ranked 149th in the FIFA world rankings) takes on Jamaica (70th) in a crucial intercontinental playoff match for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The highly anticipated contest will be held in Guadalajara, Mexico’s second-largest city.
Jamaica, known as the Reggae Boyz, are considered the favorites, but New Caledonia – nicknamed “Les Cagous” – are banking on their defensive strength to pull off an upset and secure their first-ever qualification for the World Cup. Should they defeat Jamaica, New Caledonia will then face the Democratic Republic of Congo (ranked 48th) just four days later.
This landmark occasion for Les Cagous will be broadcast live across the nine channels of the Réseau des 1ère in French territories – and live on Guadeloupe la 1ère this Thursday, March 26th, starting at 10:45 PM local time.
The broadcast will feature reports, interviews, and infographics to provide viewers with a comprehensive understanding of the intercontinental playoff system and a closer appear at the Jamaican team.
Kick-off is scheduled for 9:00 PM local time in Mexico – 11:00 PM in Guadeloupe – with live coverage. Throughout the match, reactions and messages of support from Caledonian fans will be shared on air.
