Shingle Springs Tribe Plans New Family-Focused Golf Complex in El Dorado County

The Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians announced today plans for a unique golf entertainment complex along Highway 50 in El Dorado County, aiming to diversify recreational options in the area.

The proposed development, located on the south side of Highway 50 across from Red Hawk Resort + Casino, will feature a nine-hole, par-three golf course, an 18-hole miniature golf course, and a two-story driving range. Plans also include three exclusive golf holes and a new halfway house offering food and beverages. According to a news release, the project is designed to be an inclusive space for golfers of all skill levels.

“We are creating an entertainment-focused family venue,” said Chairwoman Regina Cuellar. “The non-traditional golf course will offer a comfortable place for entry-level and avid golfers alike.” The development is intended to complement the existing Red Hawk Casino and attract a wider range of visitors to the region, potentially boosting local tourism. The project is currently pending design and permit reviews, with a goal of breaking ground in the spring of 2026 and opening to the public in the summer of 2027. The Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians are also involved in other community initiatives, including cultural preservation efforts. Officials stated they will continue to update the public as the project progresses.
