Switzerland is celebrating a new wave of young talent as the country prepares for major milestones in both classical music and television.
A New Face for a Global Icon
The legendary story of Heidi is returning to the screen in 2027. In a move that brings the production closer to the story’s roots, the title role in the upcoming series will be played by 12-year-ancient Swiss actress Neah Hefti. The new project, which is being developed by RTL, marks another chapter in the history of Heidi adaptations, continuing the legacy of the beloved character with a fresh, authentic Swiss lead. This casting highlights a commitment to the character’s cultural origins as the series prepares for its 2027 debut, as noted by BILD.

Classical Prodigy Sets Sights on Europe
On the musical front, 19-year-old piano sensation Manoush Toth is preparing to represent SRF on a massive stage. Toth has been selected to compete in the “Eurovision Young Musicians” competition, which will take place in Armenia in 2026.
Toth, who was born in 2006 on La Palma, is a multi-instrumentalist proficient in piano, violin, organ, and conducting. Her journey began at just two years old with the violin, followed by the piano at age eight. Her technical skill and artistry have already drawn praise, with critic Norma Fisher describing her as having a “tremendous sense of style, energy and spirit!” and noting her “innate communication skills” as a performer.
These developments signal a strong moment for Swiss arts, bridging the gap between traditional classical excellence and the enduring global appeal of television storytelling.
