According to reports from Japanese automotive news outlet Creative Trend, a vehicle suspected to be the Honda Vezel – known as the HR-V in Indonesia – was observed parked and covered in camouflage.

The photographs were taken in the Kanto region of Japan and showcase the rear of the anticipated new HR-V generation.

Despite the camouflage, the vehicle’s proportions and silhouette are discernible. A notable change appears to be a more pronounced rear fender.

The body also appears wider, creating a more robust aesthetic compared to the current global model’s rounded design.

Visually, the new HR-V appears more substantial and muscular. Side character lines are more defined, while the proportions of the glass and rear pillars suggest a more streamlined design. This approach aligns with current SUV trends emphasizing an aggressive appearance without significantly increasing dimensions.

Creative311 also highlighted the absence of a conventional rear wiper. The current model features a clearly visible wiper on the rear window. However, the test unit’s rear window was clean without the device. The publication speculates that Honda may conceal the wiper mechanism under a spoiler or redesign the aerodynamic system for optimal rainwater distribution without a visible component.

If confirmed, this change would extend beyond aesthetics. Aerodynamic optimization has the potential to impact the drag coefficient, ultimately affecting fuel efficiency and vehicle stability at high speeds.

Honda has not yet released official powertrain details. However, Creative311 reports a growing focus on electrification within Honda’s product line. Both in Japan and Indonesia, the Honda Vezel or HR-V is already available in a hybrid e:HEV configuration, and the next generation is likely to further emphasize this system.

The HR-V e:HEV variant launched in Indonesia in mid-2025, but the current body generation has been available globally since 2022. Considering Honda’s typical model cycle of four to five years, the next generation could be introduced soon in global markets before reaching Indonesia.

Currently, all information is based on test photos and reports from Japanese media. Honda has not provided official confirmation regarding the launch timing or technical specifications.
