Volvo EX60 Draws Crowds as New Electric SUV Launches
The new Volvo EX60, the all-electric successor to the popular XC60, is generating significant interest from potential buyers. Over 400 people attended launch events in both Telemark and Kristiansand on Monday, March 16, 2026, and Tuesday, March 17, 2026, signaling strong demand for the premium family SUV. This launch underscores the growing consumer shift towards electric vehicles and Volvo’s commitment to an all-electric future.
Frydenbø Bil, a Volvo retailer, reported a rush of interest, with potential customers encouraged to place orders quickly to secure a vehicle this year. “Skal du ha en i år, må den kjøpes nå,” the company stated, indicating anticipated high demand and potential wait times.
The EX60 boasts an impressive 810 km (WLTP) electric range and can achieve a DC speedy charge from 10-80% in just 19 minutes. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h is a swift 3.9 seconds. The vehicle also features an 800-volt electrical system for rapid charging at DC400 kW chargers, capable of adding 320 km of range in just 10 minutes.
Beyond performance, the EX60 incorporates advanced technology, including a large, horizontally-oriented infotainment screen with integrated Google navigation. Volvo is also integrating Google Gemini, enabling drivers to engage in natural language conversations with the vehicle.
The EX60 offers a towing capacity of up to 2,400 kg for all-wheel drive (AWD) models, and 2,000 kg for rear-wheel drive (RWD) variants.
Frydenbø Bil is hosting a roadshow for the EX60 throughout March 2026, with events already held in Kristiansand on March 17 and scheduled for Bergen on March 19. Potential customers can register their interest and request a quote through Frydenbø Bil’s website. The starting price for the EX60 is kr 649,900.
