Strong Winds Cause Damage, Disruptions in Nuevo León
Nuevo León, Mexico is grappling with the aftermath of strong winds and a cold front that have caused widespread damage and disruptions, according to multiple reports. The severe weather has led to power outages, numerous accidents, and even sparked wildfires in the metropolitan area of Monterrey.
Authorities confirmed that Cold Front 41 has resulted in 291 incidents across the state, coupled with the powerful gusts of wind. The strong winds also contributed to the outbreak of simultaneous fires in the Monterrey metropolitan area, Milenio reported.
Power was temporarily cut to areas of Nuevo León, but the CFE restored electrical service to the region.
Strong winds also caused damage in various sectors of the Monterrey metropolitan area, INFO7 reported. Authorities issued warnings regarding the strong winds, El Norte also reported on the warnings.
