NVIDIA on February 26, 2026, released a problematic software update that is causing performance issues with GeForce RTX graphics cards.

The new NVIDIA GeForce 595.59 drivers are reportedly causing instability and preventing graphics cards from operating at their expected parameters.

After installation, the 595.59 drivers are causing cards to malfunction, exhibiting issues with boost clock logic and reporting inaccurate data to monitoring applications. In some cases, even the graphics card fans are failing to activate.

Personal experience confirms that the problems following the installation of the 595.59 drivers were immediately noticeable in games (the graphics card lost approximately 30-40% of its normal performance). Issues with GPU fan operation were too observed.

NVIDIA has now halted distribution of the update for users who have not yet downloaded it and is officially recommending that those experiencing problems revert to the older 591.86 drivers (released January 27). Within the NVIDIA App, users can reinstall this version by selecting the “Drivers” tab on the left and scrolling to the bottom of the application, where version 591.86 is available for reinstallation.
