Reports of an injury to Ole Romeny have been refuted by a member of the PSSI Executive Committee, Sumardji.
Romeny was absent from the last two matches of the 2025/2026 Championship season. Transfermarkt reports that Romeny is currently dealing with a foot fracture.
This sparked concern as the Indonesian national team is scheduled to compete in the FIFA Series 2026 this month. Romeny was among the 41 players called up by coach John Herdman.

Sumardji, who also serves as Chairman of the National Team Body (BTN), dismissed the reports after directly contacting Romeny.
“I asked, and Ole Romeny is not injured,” Sumardji told reporters in Jakarta.
Romeny has a history of significant injuries. The 25-year-traditional striker previously suffered a fractured metatarsal in his right foot while playing for Oxford United in the 2025 President’s Cup in July 2025.
Since recovering from that injury, Romeny’s performance with Indonesia has been limited, though he has still managed to score three goals in six appearances for the Garuda.
