Olga Lombardo, 22, has been crowned the new Miss Belgium and is aiming to bring positivity back to the pageant scene. She addressed what she called “scandalous” statements made by former candidates.

Lombardo, who as well holds the title of Miss Vlaams-Brabant 2026, is a student at KUL (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven) studying Pharmacy, according to her Instagram profile. She has over 1,600 followers on the platform.

A recent Instagram reel posted three hours ago congratulates Lombardo on her win, with the caption stating, “Félicitations Olga nouvelle miss Belgique 2026 parce que la couronne est bien mise, plus ou…” (Congratulations Olga new Miss Belgium 2026 because the crown is well placed, more or…). The post also describes her as sporty and someone who enjoys meeting people.

The Miss Belgium pageant, established in 1929, selects a representative for both the Miss World and Miss Universe competitions, provided the dates don’t conflict. The first contest looking for the most beautiful girl in Belgium was in 1928, organized by journalist Jean-Jacques Fortis as a promotion for the journal Piccolo, now Le Soir. The pageant has evolved over the years, with organizers like Cécile Muller in 1968 emphasizing bilingualism and interview training for contestants. Miss Belgium has become a significant cultural event in the country.
