Nearly two years after the launch of the Nord Buds 3 Pro, OnePlus is preparing to introduce its successor. Ahead of the March launch, the company has revealed details about the latest earbuds.
The new earbuds, dubbed the Nord Buds 4 Pro, feature a redesigned aesthetic. While maintaining the in-ear design of the previous generation, the stems now have a consistent thickness. The touch control area is also elongated, covering approximately 40% of the stem’s length.
The redesign extends to the charging case, which has been updated from an oval shape to a squirrel-like form factor, while still allowing for vertical earbud storage. The Nord Buds 4 Pro will be available in black and white color options, according to promotional images.
Under the hood, the Nord Buds 4 Pro will incorporate 12mm titanium-coated drivers. OnePlus has also improved the active noise cancellation (ANC), with the new earbuds capable of up to 55 dB of noise reduction, an increase from the 49 dB offered by the Nord Buds 3 Pro.
Further enhancements include support for Hi-Res Audio Wireless and the LHDC codec, a welcome addition as the Nord Buds 3 Pro only supported AAC and SBC codecs. 3D Spatial Audio and Game Sound Spatial Audio are also supported. The Nord Buds 4 Pro will utilize a total of six microphones and employ AI-powered noise reduction for clearer call quality.
OnePlus has yet to reveal all the details, and may choose to release more information leading up to the March 19th launch event.
