“Maybe I was in third or second grade. We were told in class that a boy, Vlad Ampov, would be coming in to film his first music video. They told us they were looking for artistic kids for the video. It featured mandarins, which weren’t very common in Bulgaria at the time, and they had been obtained through connections. All the kids rushed to the bar where Graf was making mandarin juice,” Orlin Pavlov shared during an appearance on “Na Kafe.”

“After years on stage, we had awkward moments with him. Instead of me taking my microphone, I took his, and he took mine, and his didn’t work. I started to sing and realized that nothing was coming through,” he added.

Bulgarian singer Orlin Pavlov recently recounted a childhood encounter with fellow musician Vlad Ampov on the talk show “Na Kafe,” revealing a surprisingly early connection to a now-prominent figure in the Bulgarian music scene. Pavlov recalled being a student when Ampov, known professionally as Graf, came to his school to film a music video. “Maybe I was in third or second grade,” Pavlov said. “We were told in class that a boy, Vlad Ampov, would be coming in to film his first music video. They told us they were looking for artistic kids for the video. It featured mandarins, which weren’t very common in Bulgaria at the time, and they had been obtained through connections. All the kids rushed to the bar where Graf was making mandarin juice.”

The singer also shared a more recent, humorous anecdote about a microphone mishap during a performance with Ampov. “After years on stage, we had awkward moments with him,” Pavlov explained. “Instead of me taking my microphone, I took his, and he took mine, and his didn’t work. I started to sing and realized that nothing was coming through.”
