OSDW Azymut, a major book wholesaler, has announced the closure of its warehouse in Stryków, Poland. The move will result in job losses for all employees at the logistics center. The company attributes the layoffs to financial difficulties stemming from a cyberattack last year.

Azymut has proposed a settlement plan for its creditors. The company anticipates that its largest creditor, Wydawnictwo Naukowe PWN – which holds over half of all outstanding obligations – “will be satisfied to a significantly lesser extent than other creditors.” Details regarding the restructuring proposal and current information will be available in the National Debt Register.

The company’s financial situation prompted it to initiate restructuring proceedings in early 2026. The goal of these actions is financial stabilization and minimizing losses. Creditors can expect to recover around 50 percent of their claims, although some entities may receive considerably less.

The closure of the Stryków facility is too expected to have a negative impact on the local economy. Job losses in the logistics sector will add to employment challenges in the region.

The company stated that affected employees will receive benefits in accordance with applicable regulations and will be assisted in their job search. Collaboration with the labor office aims to facilitate this transition, according to a company statement.
